Imperial Lighting provides FULL Lighting Services for Commercial & Retail projects – Hotels, Retail Stores, Auto, Hospitality, Restaurants, everything, anything – nationwide as follows:

DESIGN PHASE

Reference drawings

Always available from us to the design team, are prepared reference Lighting Plans – prototypical of the account or job type; for example, for a hotel with a typical parking lot, ground floor and typical upper floor…, or a Retail store that builds with a prototypical lighting plan from store to store…

Typical site lighting plan

We are normally provided the Site Plan and then layout the lighting from scratch, achieving light levels and patterns that follow the owner’s guidelines and criteria, placing and utilizing the most efficient, cost effective yet appropriate luminaires – determining best pole heights, light output, light distribution, # of heads per pole and numerous other considerations.

For indoor designs, with the shift to LED lighting and introduction of luminaires we didn’t use to see just a few years back, it is becoming increasingly useful to provide a photometric light level drawing and/or renderings matching our designs. To us, they serve mostly as reinforcement of what we designed to; for the architects and engineers we work with, they are “proof” our designs are correct. The owners compare the renderings to their visualization. Site Lighting Plans ALWAYS require a photometric drawing for submission to the city for permitting.

Luminaire schedule for combination interior and exterior

With all our designs, or even value engineering, our professional Luminaire Schedules are provided that detail everything the design team and contractor needs to know – including dimming method, voltage, lumens, watts, mounting information and uncertainties or verification/clarification prior to purchasing the lighting package. We provide a detailed and complete set of matching Catalog Cuts along with it.

Catalog Cut package

Our catalog cut packet consists of a job cover with a catalog cut for every Type on the Luminaire Schedule, detailing all the parameters of the catalog # specifications including other available options and installation information for review by the balance of the owner’s design team and contractors (as sometimes during the design/specification – not every field condition can be known). These are provided during design to the design team/customer and we ensure the awarded contractor receives them as early as possible.

For Hotels

Per Brand, and we work with many, we have prepared prototypical Ground Floor and Typical Upper Level Lighting Plans available directly from us and stored on-line in Link boxes, complete with Luminaire Schedule and catalog cuts. Our service can range from entire layouts from the architect/engineer’s RCPs to just assistance and specifications – as requested per job, indoor and out. Controls are determined in accordance with the architect’s and owner’s vision for convenience, energy savings, code compliance, and the owner’s budget – anywhere from dimmers and sensors to a central control system – either via dimming panels or a fully networked digitally addressable node system. For existing hotels, designers and owners turn to us for help with minor renovations and LED retrofits.

Controls

Imperial Lighting can provide a Lighting Controls design from scratch, per code and/or energy savings and convenience considerations, with Bill of Material, 1 line/Components/Wiring diagram and Budget.

QUOTATION PHASE

Estimates & Quotations

Imperial Lighting prepares “Estimates” at completion of Design, and then a formal complete Quotation upon receipt of “For Construction Drawings”, Interior, Site and Controls. Just like a big box retailer – anything you buy from us you can assume is priced as low as is available anywhere, and even with that – we offer value alternatives.

As a design distributor that values your business, we believe a markup that assures our quotations are as competitive or lower than our competition – allows our relationship with you to be based solely on our level of our knowledge, our role as a key part of your professional design team, our level of courtesy, and the efficiency of which we can deliver your material.

CONSTRUCTION PHASE

Order Placement

Upon placement of every order, Imperial Lighting forms a Job Team of the Lighting Designer, Quoter, an Inside Salesperson and an Expediter, that works with the customer and contractor through completion of the project. Only a job that goes smoothly earns us the next one – we know that.

LIFETIME PHASE

Warranty

Imperial Lighting handles all lighting warranty matters.

Maintenance Guide

Imperial Lighting prepares an FMG (Facility Maintenance Guide), a bible for the lighting and controls so the owner/manager never has to wonder how to resolve a lighting/controls issue.

Renovation

If a time comes when a renovation is in order – Imperial Lighting has your original plans and all documentation and is available again, from start to finish!

Kurt Tomasovich – Senior Designer &
Director of Operations

Kurt Tomasovich graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1984, served 5 years as an Army officer and software engineer and then entered the lighting industry as a lighting designer/distributor. Over the course of 32 years, he has worked in every aspect of the industry – design, sales, representation, manufacturing, architecture, engineering, contracting and controls design and supply.

Kurt oversees every project at Imperial Lighting – for each job/order, a staff that includes specialized designers, a quotations/account manager and shipping expediters. “To be the best – a company that calls us – we have to know everything about lighting and controls and be up to date with it – our designs and quotations must be professional and complete and with everything considered – the overall architectural image, luminaire function & efficiency, sustainability, and the practicality of giving the owner the best he can get within his budget, and then ship and deliver it timely and without problems.
